Let's discuss all the things we can do to keep these hot lumps cool.
The oil cooler is an obvious first, and I just learned about this exhaust cross over removal. Has anyone tried anything else? I ran a vented side cover for a little while. I took an old extra beat up side cover and drilled it out to get some airflow between it and the oil tank. It did work a little but I didn't find it helped significantly.

I have coated the piston crowns, inlet and exhaust valves, ports and crossover inside and out with thermal barrier coating as used in aircraft industry and on turbo housings. Keeps the heat from getting INTO the engine. Earls 10 row cooler is much better than stock. Oil temp hot is 75-80 degrees, rear cylinder head 130 degrees,
