I have been looking for a TX for several years. Finally found a '73. Looks like a long term project

Good Day, My name is Jeff, I'm located in the Finger Lakes area of NY. I recently picked up a VERY rusty old '73 TX as a project. Among numerous other tasks, I need to replace the mufflers - I was able to save the header pipes, but would like to replace the completely rusted out mufflers with aftermarket units. Any suggestions as to what I might use? Attachments:

Gabanyi Bela, at home in Switzerland, has been having exhausts produced for the TX 750 for years. Some of our members (www.tx750.de) use them and are very satisfied with them. further information belas.gab@outlook.de GR silencers original type for Yamaha TX750 (Spain) More info: www.escapesgr.esVideo: Very nice exhausts for the TX 750 are available in Australia from Overlander (they are a bit shorter than the original ones).https://dropbears.com/overlander/ Rasputin wrote in this forum: Aug 9, 2018 Hi all. I have fitted Triumph T140 silencers to my TX. They are a passable alternative, readily available, and not expensive.

I have been down the road of restoring a TX750 and frankly, after looking at your pics, mufflers would be the last thing to address. Mine was rough and yours looks equally the same. That bike needs a complete teardown to the frame to address the rust issues (I had my frame powder coated) then a methodical rebuild. Engine teardown, carbs, brakes etc. I don't want to turn you off but it will be work, and depending on how much you can do yourself, money..
