After a good few years searching I am now the proud owner of a totally unmolested and original 1972 TX750. Unfortunately Its not run in a good many years, disappointingly there was no ignition spark either. I've since ultrasonically cleaned the carburettor's twice, replaced the spark plugs, checked at set the ignition timing and cleaned all electrical connections. Everything electrical works as it should accept for the starter clutch slipping badly and the engine refused to fire. I have read through a number of posts on the forum and was able to diagnose the initial starting problem. I have since discovered the HT coils had been wired incorrectly and the engine now runs as it should

Maybe the wires from the points have been swapped? Near the front sprocket.
