Engine identification/timing help also

I have a bobber build with a tx 750 . I have been trying to identify the right year motor so I can get the right info on setting the timing . I have not been able to find a serial number on the motor. Does anyone know where it mite be located. If pictures are need please let me know .

Hi Reaper - Engine number is at the front of the engine just below the starter

Hi, Maybe your bike had been fitted with a new engine or crankcases under warranty, I believe they do not have engine numbers, Later Yamaha's from the japanese domestic market also do not have engine numbers, they only have the model code stamped on the cases.
