Had another run on the TX today. Not smoking as much as it did. Not sure the motor sounds too good.

Hi all. After nearly 1,000 MLS, I decided that the gearing was too low, at 60mph it seemed to be revving it's head off. Having a quite powerful and torquey engine, I felt it needed gearing up. The only rear sprocket I could find to fit was an XS650 fitment, JTR850/34, that's one tooth above standard on a lot of XS650. Now 36 down from 40 is quite a big jump and nesecitates shortening the chain two links, but I thought I would give it a go. The result is really pleasing, at 60mph, the engine is 3000rpm, feels really calm and relaxed at this speed, still pulls like a train, I think the fuel consumption will improve also. More later. Ras.

I use 5th gear overdrive from MikesXS combined with 1 more tooth on the front sprocket. Feels great as well.
