Hi All, I'm aware that if the stock engine did not get the yamaha recommended modifications at the dealer, that there are some oil clogging/starving issues for journal bearings that CAN happen, not FOR SURE, but just CAN.
Is there any gaskets/components/seals that cannot handle being touched by Seafoam cleaner? whether it be in the oil or fuel related. I know that on some older tech, some components cannot handle certain chemicals.
My bike was sitting for close to 2 years i found out, without having an oil change and not being run. I wanted to spray some non-chlorinated cleaner in there from underneath since oil pan is off to get any debris that may be sitting on surfaces, then put in new Rotella T6 5W40 mixed with some Seafoam, run for 15 - 30 minutes, then drain and replace with rotella. (working on the whole oil adaptation too so no worries about that).
Also, do you think microlubricants will have any negative effects on wet clutches? obviously it will help the engine, but i dont work with wet clutches too much so not sure of its effects. At first thought without much research, i feel like it would make the clutches slip like crazy - but then again, i also thought that about any non-wet clutch specified oil that is put in but apparently you guys run diesel oil in there.....so I hope you can explain.
Thanks,
