Well... I finally found one. I have always loved the looks of the TX750's and came across a 1974 that was not too far from me here in Ontario. It has sat in a barn for quite some time and looks like it is strait from '74 with the crash bar and rear seat rest/rack (which I have taken off) on it. A non-runner that kicks over and goes through the gears fine. The only thing missing(and hope to get from thr seller) is the airbox assy. It will need some TLC and I'm just the guy that will give it that. A great find for a $150.00 bucks!!

I did try but it said the photo too large. I will try again in a bit with some help. I don't know who is more excited about it, my 17year old son or me.

Hi albaljeu,
I'm in Tillsonburg which is 35 minutes south-east of London, not too far from you. My bike wil need a few parts that I know of so far before I try to start it. I looked at a few pics of your bikes, nice work!! I'm sure I will have some questions once I get at it.

Well... I managed to find another 1974 TX750 but, this one is in rougher shape. I was on the hunt for an airbox assy. and just bought the whole bike. I still can't load any pictures as it says they are too large. Any tricks to this??

Welcome from Ottawa! A number of us lately posting from Ontario and Quebec. I have a 74 in good original condition but no original mufflers. You found a second one quickly! Looking forward to seeing your pictures. Mike

Thanks Mike. Yes you are right and it's good to see other local people here. I missed out on one before this 2nd one as it was a bit of a drive from me. It was a late '74 as it had the dual front brakes and it also came with an ownership. It looked to be in good shape as it was all original too. As for pictures, I will have to check the settings on the camera. Do you have your bike on the road?
Geo.

I bought it running and road ready but it has two issues to fix. First are the mufflers. I will need to replace some short ones that were installed. Probably go with replacement reverse cones or pea shooters as originals hard to find in nice shape. Second item is the front end sits too high. I will post pics someday to ask for suggestions. I think a previous owner changed the springs perhaps. It has to be the reason it sits too high. Mike

Hey Pudzi, first of all congrats for the good choice! You are lucky with yours - I do not have papers nor does mine run ..... yet!! ;-) If you want to sell some parts like the upper clamps of the handlebar, the handlebar and rear footrests let me know please... need to get my project going.. slowly but steadily. Like Mike said there are more popping up .. maybe one day we could meet and ride together.
Cheers!

Well... the 1974 TX750 lives!! I cleaned the 2nd carb today and hooked up a temporary tank and new lines. I flipped the choke and presses the start button, it sat there and ran at a perfect idle... I was stunned!! Now I can do the rest of the stuff as I know it's good to go. I need to flush the tank, re-build the front caliper and order a new master cylinder. This thing sounds great!!

Well... I'm just about ready for the safety!! It's been a long year and a half since I bought it to get it this far as it has sat in a barn since 1980. I'm waiting for 2 exhaust gaskets and a few of the last of the things to finish up on it. Yee-Haa!!
