I picked up a tx750 last week. It's been sitting outside for who-knows how long. The engine wouldn't even budge with the kick start, so I was afraid the engine was seized. The chain was broken and rusted solid, so no way to turn the motor over by pushing/pulling the bike. So I took the clutch cover off, everything looked in place. I put a wrench on, what I'd call the crank shaft nut and the motor turns just fine. I verified piston movement, put the clutch cover back on, but the kick start still acts like something is locked up / jammed. Any advice on where to begin?? Thanks, MB

Take the clutch cover off again and pull out the gear of the kickstarter. Maybe there is something locked up.
