Had another run on the TX today. Not smoking as much as it did. Not sure the motor sounds too good.

Ever since I have had my TX it has suffered from oil draining into the sump if left for a day or two. Studying the oil circuit I find that when idle the only thing in between the oil tank and check valve is the pump delivery side itself. Looking on the parts diagram I see there are 3 oil seals on the pump drive shaft. 15mm x 11mm x 3mm. Having stripped my pump I find the seals to be in less than serviceable condition. So I ordered and replaced the seals. Over the next few days I’ll monitor the oil level and see if I have cured it or not. Ill update the results.

Hi Rasputin; I have changed these seasl prior including the seal in the main case. I understand your logic regard changing these seals which in theory whould help the wet sumping. There is also the sping loaded valve further down the oil flow which is probably the bigger problem. I have considered machining a softer rubber plug in order to provide a better seal to the casing.(stiffer spring could help as well) Plug is accessible with the engine installed if rear wheel is removed. I have a rebuilt engine which includes all the seals changed and this hasn't helped stop the wet sumping.
Let me know how you make out.
