I am a retired mechanic. I put in a used battery. It is connected as normal. I discovered a few wiring problems already. I am trying to bypass the Ignition Switch to look for spark. I jumpered from B+ to red/white wire going into both coils, just near where the coils mount.
*No Spark*
I think I also need to jumper B+ into the Brown wire on harness side (coming from ign switch) because that should provide V and A to the stator and coils.
This is not a permanent magnet alternator is it?
Thanks. Mark

UPDATE: Standard trouble shooting...tested both plug wires; marginal. Trimmed 8mm off each end, retry = nice fat white spark from left coil. Tomorrow I will recheck the right side. PS, All I did jumper wise is B+ to red/white near coils. According to the diagram this creates a stand alone 12v ignition system.
