Is there anyone that can give the correct answer on question as follow: What is the correct adjusting for the pilotscrew on the carburetor on an US TX 750 74 modell. Some Places it says 1,5 turn out and other places says 3/4 turn out.

I'm pretty sure the Service Manual states 1.5 turns out.
Can anyone confirm? I don't have a Service Manual in front of me at work. They wouldn't let me bring my bike into the office.

Carburetor specification says 3/4 turn out and in the text for adjusting the Carburetor says 1,5 turn out, have you adjusted Your carburetor With 1,5 turn?

My engine is stock as far as I know and it has pod filters, but it seems to run okay that way. I don't have much road time on it as it is not currently plated.

All of my service manuals state to seat the screw lightly then unscrew 1 1/2 turns. However, the specification chart at the beginning of the section does in fact state 3/4 of a turn. Pretty sure mine are set at ~1 1/2. Highly recommend reading the XS650 garage carb guide if you haven't. Lots of pertinent information about the BS38s even if some of the settings may be different. I too was confused with the conflicting information and did some cross referencing on the Xs650 forums in addition to the published information. The owners manual (1st printing) calls for 1 1/2 turns, no more, no less. I have the original air box with the Triumph Bonneville filter element mods and using the dead cylinder method for balancing both carbs are just a touch past one turn.

Hello,
to make the confusion complete: My Owners Manual (341-28199-80) says, 1 turn, no more, no less ;-)
I use a glass-spark plug for calibration and found out, that indeed 3/4 to 1 turn matches.
Greetings from Germany
