I bought one of the first 73 TX750s from my uncle's shop (DJ Cycle) in Greencastle PA. I had it for about 4 years. I always remember when taking long trips I had to get out early before everyone else to clean off my points from the oil seeping on them. I sold it around 1978. I had alot of bikes since then but saw a cafe racer from a TX750 on Raleigh NC craigslist couple of years ago. I didn't recognize it as a TX at first. But when I saw it was I got a couple riding buddies and checked it out and bought it. It runs pretty good but misses some. It has pod air filters and I think I need to put a short tube between them and the carbs, plus maybe look into the carbs. It has a long oil pan so I think it may be a 74 engine or maybe someone put a long pan on it. Previous owners ground off the serial number for some reason so can't tell what year it is. It has started leaking oil looks like out the left engine cover to will have to ck that out. Don't see a gasket on parts list so maybe a seal has gone bad? Anyway fun to work on it and glad I found a forum. Glad to be here.

Had another run on the TX today. Not smoking as much as it did. Not sure the motor sounds too good.

Hi Bill. My bike came from Myrtle Beach. I’m in the UK.
