Attached are two great electrical diagrams for the TX750. Electrical Wire Diagram: Electrical Circuit Diagram:

Can anyone tell me how the wiring works for connecting the coils up please. The wiring diagrams aren't clear and I'm confused by the orange, brown and red/white wires.
Thanks - JT

On the diagram the red/white is the positive supply to the coil assembly input, and the orange wire is the output from the coil to the points. The brown wire on the diagram is the lead to the spark plug from the coil assembly. You will note there are two coils indicated for each cylinder on the schematic, the primary and secondary, which are both inside the coil assembly. When the circuit from the red/white and orange wires through their coil is complete with the points closed, the second coil creates a high voltage charge that collapses/discharges when the points open via the "brown" wire to the spark plug, across the gap to ground. The wire connections for the coils to harness are under the fuel tank.

Thanks for that. So what wires do I connect to the red/white double connection ? In fact if you could tell me exactly what connects to what it would be very helpful Thnaks.

The red/white wires are the coil + feeds. Looks like the orange wire goes to left coil - to points, and brown to right coil - to right points.

Thanks Don but I'm still a bit confused (easily done). I get that the red/white wire with its double connection is the 12 volt feed to the coil (I get 12 volts there when the key is turned on) but are you saying that I connect an orange wire from the left coil and a brown wire from the right coil to the red/white wire ?
There are orange and brown wires with male connections coming out of each coil and I have the red/white double female connection, an orange female connection and a grey female connection coming out of the loom. Just trying to figure what goes where.
Thanks.

Actually that's wrong - the orange wires from both coils have female connections and the orange and grey wires from the loom have male connections. I'm guessing that the two brown wires from the coil connect to the red/white wire and the orange coil wires go to the orange and grey loom wires ?

Looks like they're calling the spark plug wires brown for some reason. Try the orange wire to left coil - and probably a gray wire for right coil -. That's the way my 72 R5 is wired.
