Hi all - my master cylinder leaks from where the brake lever pushes the piston unusually. I could not find any seal kits. I found that the honda cx500 was similar in diameter 5/8 or nearly 16mm. Although tight i got a firm feel to the cylinder but it weeped out of the same place despite the washer and lock ring bieng in the right place....mmm? At the same time i have seen a replacement circular brake master for a kawasaki same bore although the mirror thread seems to be reversed?... how do i get over that? Any thoughts from the community.

Have you cleaned out the bore thoroughly - even the slightest speck of dirt or oxidation will cause a leak. The fact that the replacement master cylinder leaked may mean that it is your washer that is the problem. Try a new one. Any replacement master cylinder will work as long as it is the same bore size to suit your brake set up (5/8 etc). Yamaha have left and right thread arrangements for their mirrors and most other manufacturers just use the standard right hand thread so that could be an issue for you.

Hey JT thanks for the response.
I did clean the bore with some red pad but your right it only takes a little something. It may be that i opt for the replacement and see if i can find an original mirror that works
