I was wondering if there is a recommended procedure on the adjustment of the balancer chain (obviously on the adjustable type)? Does it require dropping the sump to check the tension of the chain?
Thank you, Garrett

I haven't checked mine yet, but judging from step #44 final adjustment can be done with the engine running if it was close to begin with. I'm not sure how to verify the .3mm minimum freeplay limitation in that case. Balancer adjustment

The best way is to adjust it while the motor running. While running I turned the balancer shaft counterclockwise till I felt resistance and the noise level increased, then I turned the shaft clockwise till the chain noise level was just at the least....don't loosen it too much...just enough to stop the chain rattle, then lock it down.
