I haven't had my front wheel off yet(haven't had time to play with the ole girl yet)Does the cover by the speddo sender come off to reveal threaded bolt holes for another disk or do i need an xs 650 wheel ?

Everything is there for the second disc, which came standard on the European bikes. The same disc bolts right on, and the same caliper works, you only need to reverse the mounting bolts. The forks also have the mounting tabs. I believe the '76 model XS650 has the part number for the brake hoses, fixed and flexible, as well as the stock hydraulic splitter. You'll need a larger master cylinder (I used the one from MikeXS) and was able to find the other parts by watching ebay. You could also use a double banjo bolt to split the lines, but it wouldn't look quite as nice. I like the braking, but the downside is a little more fiddling to remove the front wheel to get the calipers to clear the rim.

Yes, the early 650 rotor is the same. The later version won't fit. I don't remember the year they changed over right off hand.

I'm pretty sure it's an early one.a friend dropped off a roller at my house a few years ago with no motor.

Looking to rebuild the master cylinder but not finding any parts available. What are recommended alternative master cylinders that would mate to the existing brake line?

Try Mike's XS for parts or a complete master cylinder. I think the 750 is the same system as the 650.
